Four Sigmatic: From Mushroom Coffee to a Skincare Line So Pure You Can Eat It

When Four Sigmatic started telling people in the skincare industry that they wanted to create a skincare line so pure that you could eat, they always got this reply:

“Yeah, sure, but like, not really, right?”

Beauty and skincare is a tricky world because there are a million products that scream “KALE!” “ADAPTOGENS!” “MUSHROOMS!” and at first, might sound like you could eat them.

But when you actually look at the ingredients, you’ll see that the first ingredient is almost always water. Followed by that is often a bunch of plastics (yes, plastic), before you finally get to those food ingredients.

And while the push towards more “green” and “natural” beauty products is a good first step, Four Sigmatic wants to take this all the way. To them, there’s no halfway pure.

“That’s why you can, and should eat our NEW Mushroom Face Mask & Tonic and Superfood Serum.”

If you can’t eat it, I’m not going to put it on my skin or in the skincare I use.

Not only can you eat them, but your whole body will benefit from eating them. These two products are the backbone of your skincare routine.

They say that beauty is skin deep. The problem is, all those products you put on your skin? They go deep. Your skin is your largest organ, so it’s time we treat it right.

2. Mask Benefits

When you mix up the mask you’ll notice it looks and smells like brownie batter. It mixes and applies easily, and while you’re relaxing for 5-15 minutes, it’s working its magic:

  • Purifies and clears pores with activated charcoal
  • Smoothes fine lines, tightens and hydrates skin with chaga, panax ginseng, and gotu kola
  • Reduces redness and calms skin with reishi

And you’ll see these benefits whether you have oily, dry, or combination skin. Even if you have sensitive or acne-prone skin. You can adjust the time you keep the mask on (perhaps 5 minutes for extra sensitive, 10 minutes for normal, 20 minutes for oily).

3. Tonic Benefits

When mixed with hot water, the tonic tastes like Mexican Hot Chocolate. I like adding a bit of nut milk and maple syrup. It’s best eaten on an empty stomach, like all activated charcoal drinks.

  • Supports detox with activated charcoal
  • Stress and sleep rescue from reishi
  • Antioxidant properties (inside and out!) from chaga, ginger, nutmeg and cacao

4. Serum Benefits

While the mask and tonic help to purify and detox, the Superfood Serum will keep your skin hydrated and glowing. These are food sources of essential fatty acids, paired with antioxidant properties for a beautiful combination for your face and body.

  • Fights fine lines and dryness
  • Maintains skin elasticity through procollagen synthesis
  • Antioxidant properties from avocado oil and olive fruit oil
